Description: Bob Marley is a 2026 hand-cut paper artwork by Roche Jackson. This piece honors one of the most influential musicians of all time, capturing a classic image of Bob Marley playing his guitar. His music, message, and unmistakable style continue to inspire people around the world.

This artwork is created from three layers of 300 GSM colored cardstock. The composition transitions from an icy blue background to a rich royal blue before finishing with a black silhouette. Every layer is cut entirely by hand using only an X-Acto knife, creating depth, texture, and remarkable detail.

Unlike a traditional portrait, this isolated silhouette changes depending on how it is viewed. From a distance, or even with a slight squint, the layers blend together to reveal a crisp portrait of Bob Marley. Up close, the illusion disappears, exposing hundreds of intricate X-Acto knife cuts that form the image. This shift between detail and simplicity is one of the defining characteristics of my hand-cut paper artwork.
